Been cutting a ditch aka Swale through my back pasture to control water flow. Tractor and box blade is not ideal for this task but you gotta work with what you got.

Better than a shovel.

That's gotta be about the last week for anything green in Tejas, no?

Naw, I'm behind the Pine Curtain in the East. It will be green all summ-ah.

Do you have a top& tilt for your tractor? Makes that box blade 50x better for this sort of work.

So muh Swale worked as intended, till we got 7" of rain in 24 hours. Shit eroded like hell. Rather than simply bring in more dirt to fill the swale that will just wash away again I went full Jihad on that bitch.

84 bags of 80lb quickcrete later:

I'll fill in and dare that whore to wash out again.

6800lbs of concrete moved in a single day by yours truly makes me feel like an old man.

I used 90 80-lb sacks for the footings of my pool deck. I feel your pain. Moving that in a day will shake the joints.

RE: Tractor Time - dave - 07-18-2020

I used to load 5000 lbs of water on the truck and then unload and carry it ( sometimes upstairs and down hallways) every day.
Pussies!! Tongue

RE: Tractor Time - Trub Lou - 07-18-2020

That's not even 63 sacks worth, pussy!

RE: Tractor Time - dave - 07-19-2020

Yeah, but that's daily, not a once-in-a-lifetime chore
