May 2023 Camper Road Trip
#1
Muh plan is to take at least 2 weeks and visit Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, Little Bighorn and Mt.Rushmore, and Devils Tower. Lots of details to work out still and I need to reserve RV sites. Yellowstone will be the biggie and apparently the park does not open really till May. Wanna hit it before it gets all crazy when school's out.

Anybody evah been and got any tips/trips?

May is usually my sailing time but this year I'm taking off so explore our beautiful country more.

My buddy just got back from visiting same locs. He had to cancel the Yellowstone portion because of the roads being flooded out which is now resolved. I'll ask him if he has any advice!!

Bumpage.

This trip is booked, at least my 3 nights at Yell-ah Stone NP.

Talked from several friends that have done the trip via campers and have taken good advice.

Last week of May and into June. 12-14 nights. Hitting Rushmore, Crazyhorse monument, Devils Tower, Little Bighorn, an ATV ride in the Black Hills, Yellowstone and Tetons.
Bunch of fecking driving. Upgrading my F250's 33 gal diesel tank to a 65 gal because feck yeah.

You can never carry too much ammo, unless you are swimming or on fire.

Someday I want to do a trip like this. Daughter has the semester off and was talking about doing a solo trip to a bunch of state parks.

Ya, Mount Rushmore just sits all alone up there. We've talked about driving to it but for us it is 800 miles. Someday we will go. I hear it is definitely worth seeing. Would be cool to go in July when they have fireworks.

Leaving next Tuesday after work. Quick 200 miles to the Windstar Casino just inside OK. Don't really plan to gamble but they have a nice RV park and it will be free if I join their email spam list. Then 500 miles to a small town in NE.

Soooo much to do before we go. I've made list after list and I don't see how I can square it all away. Feck it.

Oh, and to top it all off, wife Volun-told me that I'm hosting and firing up the smoker for 30+ people this Saturday so now I got even more to deal with.

If you golf they have a great set of golf courses at winstar.   I play there often.
